Author Guidelines

Abstract submission:

The submission of a 250 word abstract was possible until May 1. New authors who have not submited previously an abstract still can submit a full paper (max. 6000 words) or an extended abstract (max. 3000 words) until June 30, 2012.

Submission of paper or extended abstract:

Authors are invited to submit full papers (max. 6000 words) or extended abstracts (max. 3000 words) until June 30, 2012. Submitted works will be subject to a process of double blind referee, and if approved they will be published if they comply with the publication norms and present an appropriate language level.

Papers or extended abstracts may be written in the following languages: English, Portuguese and Spanish.

Papers should not exceed 6000 words (Microsoft Word format, font Garamond 11, single spacing) including bibliography.

Extended abstracts should not exceed 3000 words (Microsoft Word format, font Garamond 11, single spacing) including bibliography.

Each paper or extended abstract must include a short abstract of up to 150 words and 5 keywords in its original language. If its original language is Portuguese or Spanish it must include also an abstract and keywords in English.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

  1. The submission of papers or extended abstracts for this conference is made on the condition that submitted works must be original, free of plagiarism and have not been published previously nor are currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. The authors implicitly declare that they transfer the copyright of their submitted work to the SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT, HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE ALGARVE and give their agreement to the publication and diffusion through print, electronic means and others, including national and international scientific databases as well as institutional repositories.

    The rejection of the submitted proposal for publication implies the automatic extinction of the transfer of copyright to the SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT, HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE ALGARVE.

  2. Papers should not exceed 6000 words (Microsoft Word format, font Garamond 11, single spacing) including bibliography.

    Extended abstracts should not exceed 3000 (Microsoft Word format, font Garamond 11, single spacing) including bibliography.

  3. Each paper should have its own internal structure, preferably with introduction, methodology, discussion and conclusion, as well as a bibliography or bibliographic references.
  4. Additionally the author (or authors) should send a short curriculum vitae (maximum of five lines) including: name, address, e-mail, telephone number, academic degree, professional status, department and university.

  5. Tables, graphs and figures must be included in the text as well as delivered separately in the program format in which they were created.

  6. Formatting should be made according to the following template.

    We kindly ask authors to submit a full version including data about the authors (as exemplified in the template) for publication purposes, as well as a review version (without the authors' data) to be sent to the reviewers, considering the double blind review process.

  7. For publication purposes, all texts in English, including abstracts and keywords, must provide an adequate language level and style. Compliance with this requirement is critical to the publication of the work.

  8. The papers are of sole responsibility of their authors.

The submission of proposals for this conference can be made with or without transfer of copyright in the following terms:

The confirmation of the reception of this e-mail or letter validates the authors wish of not transferring any copyright and consequently his/her work will not be published.
