Author Guidelines

This conference uses a one-step submission. This means that authors must choose if they prefer to submit an ABSTRACT (200-250 words) or a FULL PAPER (between 6000 and 8000 words). It is not possible to submit an Abstract first and a full paper later. The choice of participating in the conference with an ABSTRACT or with a FULL PAPER must be made before submitting.

Abstracts will consist of a single block of text without references and  will be refereed. Authors of approved Abstracts will be invited to register and make a presentation at the conference. Abstracts will be published in a BOOK OF ABSTRACTS with ISBN.

By submitting Full Papers (6000-8000 words) authors have better publication opportunities. Full papers must include an Abstract of 150-180 words and up to 6 keywords. Full Papers will be subject to double blind referee and authors informed if their papers were rejected or approved for presentation. A selection of papers will be considered for publication (subject to author agreement) in one of the associated journals. Other approved papers will be included (subject to author agreement) in one of the Books (Proceedings), wich will be published online and indexed in scientific databases. Papers should comply with the formal norms of APA (5th edition or later).

Very important: Please check if your references are complete and in accordance with APA style. For instance, if articles in the list of REFERENCES include authors name(s), date, title, name of journal, volume, issue and pages. References or citations made along the text must be included in the REFERENCES on the end of the paper. This list of REFERENCES can include only authors and works cited or referred in the text. Models from other authors may be included in the text ONLY when new content has been added, enriching the original model.

Use of et. al.: Note that according to APA style, the first time that a group of 3 to 5 authors is cited in the text, all authors surnames must appear, followed by the year. Only in subsequent citations, the surname of the first author should be mentioned, followed by et al.

Submission Preparation Checklist

  1. The submission of abstracts or papers for this conference is made on the condition that submitted works must be original, free of plagiarism and have not been published previously nor are currently under consideration for publication elsewhere. The authors keep authors rights on their submitted Full Papers and, in case of approval, will be asked to give their agreement to the publication of their work. This does not include approved abstracts or paper abstracts, which will be published in the Book of Abstracts of the conference. By activating this option during the submission process, authors implicitly allow their abstracts to be published in the Book of Abstracts if their abstracts are approved and at least one of the authors registers to participate in the conference.

  2. The submission file (Full Paper) is in Microsoft Word file format. Please use this TEMPLATE to prepare your paper.
  3. Accepted languages for submission of Abstracts or Full Papers are: English (preferable), Spanish or Portuguese. Each paper or abstract must include its title in English if this is not its original language. Papers in Spanish or Portuguese must include also an abstract (150-180 words) and up to 6 keywords in English. Papers must be uploaded as Review Version with no names or information of their authors. Such information must be also removed from Document Properties (On Word click the File Menu - InfoInspect DocumentRemove Properties).
  4. Each full paper should have its own internal structure, preferably with introduction and objectives, literature review, methodology, results, discussion and conclusions with theoretical and practical implications, as well as references.

Each abstract should include objectives, methodology and main results.

  5. The author (or authors - max. 5) should upload a Supplementary File with the short curriculum vitae (maximum of five lines) of each author including: name, address, e-mail, telephone number, academic degree, professional status, department and university. ORCID if available.

If papers (or Abstracts) have more than one author, the names and emails of all authors must be inserted in the platform during the submission process.  The order of authors should be inserted correctly (by default,  the author who registers in the platform for submitting a Full Paper or an Abstract will be suggested as first author, but you can choose the order by inserting first the data of the first authors, then add a second author and so on. The submission process is simple, just follow the required steps when submitting.

  6. Tables, graphs and figures included in the text MUST BE EDITABLE. Do not insert TABLES or GRAPHS AS IMAGES in the text. Texts must be COMPLETE for reviewing, i.e. they must include Tables, graphs, etc. because reviewers only have access to papers and not to any annexes.
The placement of tables, figures or graphs in the text should be done immediately after the paragraph where they are mentioned for the first time. A mention to the table, figure or graph is necessary and compulsory in the preceding paragraph.
  7. Submitted papers or abstracts are of sole responsibility of their authors.
  8. No footnotes allowed.
  9. Papers written in English by non-native speaking authors should be delivered together with a proofreading certificate (if not in this phase, then later before publication) by an English native speaking proofreader. It’s very easy to find professional English editing services on the Internet.
